Donate an Item

The Brazos Valley Museum’s mission is to preserve and protect natural and cultural history, to stimulate its understanding, and to encourage responsible stewardship of all natural and cultural resources. If you have an item that fits this mission, and that you would like to donate or loan to the museum’s collections, we would love to hear from you!
Please note that the Museum has limited collections space, and as a result we cannot
guarantee acceptance of any particular item.

Requirements for Donation

Any item accepted for the museum’s collections must have clear title and conform to national and international law on the ownership of cultural property and protected specimens. We accept written requests for donations or loans. Either complete the form below, or request a form to fill out at the front desk during museum operating hours. Please note that the Museum does NOT accept drop-off items.

Brazos Valley Museum

The Collections committee meets quarterly to discuss potential donations or loans (in January, April, July, and October). Appraisals: The Museum is unable to offer appraisals or to authenticate any particular object. In some instances, we may recommend a local specialist to contact. The Brazos Valley Museum is qualified as a charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; contributions to the Museum are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please consult your tax advisor for additional information.
