Rio Brazos Audubon Society Meeting: Weeds and Invasive Species

Monique Reed, Texas A&M University, Biology Department, will give a presentation on what a weed is, how weeds are transported, where they are from, their impact on the flora and fauna, why Texas has such a weed problem and what is being done. She will offer a look at some of Texas’ worst offending species.

Exhibit Opening: Jamaica’s Sunken City: A Glimpse Into 17th Century Port Royal

The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History and students of the American Studies Museum Exhibitions course at Texas A&M University present an exhibit featuring artifacts excavated from Port Royal, Jamaica by the Nautical Archeology Program at Texas A&M University.

An opening reception, free of charge and open to the public, will be held at the museum on Saturday, December 11th at 5:30pm.
