Access Nature Teacher Workshop

In conjunction with the Showcase, the Museum is offering an Access Nature Teacher Workshop on February 6 from 9 am to 4 pm to train educators to utilize Access Nature, a National Wildlife Federation curriculum. Access Nature is a complete curriculum designed to align with National Science Education Standards for outdoor science. Targeting students ages 6-14, it focuses on habitats while developing environmental awareness and leadership skills.

Museum Hosts Educator's Showcase

The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History celebrates science education by hosting its second annual Educator’s Showcase from January 26 until February 6, 2010. This short-term exhibit is available at no cost to all educators in and around the Brazos Valley and will provide information from organizations that offer free and low cost materials and resources for educators, with an emphasis on environmental, science, and history education. This year’s showcase is sponsored by the Barbara Bush Literacy Corps.

Mitchell Institute for Fundamental Physics, Brazos Region Astronomy Service Society (BRASS), and the Brazos Valley Astronomy Club, invite the whole community to share a magnificent evening of night sky viewing.

New Museum Hours

 The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History has announced that it is changing its public hours in order to better serve the community. Beginning on January 1, 2010, the Museum and Museum Store will be open to the public on Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
