Event Details
Warm up your winter by joining the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History as we host “A Roast to Toast Bob French” at the Miramont Country Club on Thursday, January 14, 2010, cocktails at 6, dinner at 7. This fundraising dinner will celebrate beloved local weatherman Bob French, his work, community spirit and dedication to the people of the Brazos Valley. Entertainment will be provided by the Sounds OK Barbershop quartet, Elizabeth Russell and Francisco Farias (voice & guitar) & others, and also by some light hearted “roasting” of Bob.
Bob has long been a friend of the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, supporting our mission to preserve and protect the natural and cultural history of our community. A long standing community member and contributor, many of Bob’s accomplishments range from being chief meteorologist for KBTX, since 1990, training over 50 university students in broadcast meteorology, talking about weather at almost every school in Brazos Valley, entertaining folks with his music, and serving on boards of numerous organizations such as the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Health For All Clinic, SOS Ministries, The Children’s Museum of Brazos Valley, and The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History.
Bob has never been “roasted and toasted” and so is long overdue for this honor. Sponsorships for $2500 include advertising recognition, premier seating, a table of ten, and a chance to tell a short story about Bob! Tables of ten may be sponsored with reserved seating for $1000 and individual seats are available for $60. Dress is cocktail attire. If you would like to join us for an evening of laughter, great music, and good food, please contact education@brazosvalleymuseum.org or call the Museum at 979-776-2195 before January 12, 2010.
Proceeds from this fundraising event will benefit the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History and its mission to preserve and protect our natural and cultural history. This event is sponsored, in part, by Atkinson Toyota, Celebrity Spa and Boutique, KBTX, and the Eagle. Sponsorships are still available; please call Dr. Deborah Cowman at the Museum to learn more.
